Warner Bros. has released the teaser trailer for the highly anticipated “Joker: Folie à Deux.” Oscar winners Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga star as tortured lovers in the follow-up to the 2019 Batman prequel “Joker.” Phoenix is reprising his title role as Arthur Fleck, with Gaga playing Harley Quinn.
Todd Phillips is the film’s returning director of “Joker: Folie à Deux.” The film revolves around Arkham Asylum and its residents, and features musical aspects reminiscent of Francis Ford Coppola’s “One From the Heart.” Gaga plays Harley Quinn’s beginnings from “Batman the Animated Series,” beginning as a psychiatrist who cares for Phoenix’s Fleck. The cast also includes Zazie Beetz from “Joker,” Oscar contender Brendan Gleeson from “Banshees of Inisherin,” Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey.
“Joker: Folie à Deux“opens October 4.
