A school field trip turns into a working vacation when Peter (Tom Holland) is recruited by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to help Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) battle the Elementals. Marvel is cutting deep with Spider-Man: Far from Home, utilizing the Elementals, a group not well known outside of the comic book community. The group consists of Hydron, lord of the waters; Magnum, master of the earth; Hellfire, wielder of flame; and Zephyr, mistress of the winds.
Marvel is also diverting from the comics by having Spidy team up with Mysterio, rather than having him as one of his rogue gallery. We can only assume Mysterio will turn to the dark side at one point in the film. We’ll know for sure when Spider-Man: Far from Home opens July 5, 2019.
