Masters of The Universe – Official Teaser Trailer

MGM/Amazon has released the  first teaser trailer for Masters of the Universe, the live-action adventure movie based on the classic 1980s toy brand.

The film stars Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson and Charlotte Riley alongside Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto, with Jared Leto and Idris Elba.

After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Galitzine) back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.

He-Man debuted in the early 1980s as a Mattel action-figure line designed to compete with Star Wars, but it quickly became a pop-culture phenomenon thanks to the animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983–1985), which introduced Prince Adam, the magical Sword of Power, and the fantasy world of Eternia to a generation of kids. The franchise expanded with spin-offs like She-Ra: Princess of Power, further cementing its place in animation history. He-Man made the leap to live action with the 1987 cult-favorite film Masters of the Universe, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor, which, despite mixed reception, gained a loyal fanbase. Over the decades, the character has been reimagined through multiple animated revivals, including the darker, more serialized He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2002), Netflix’s nostalgic yet dramatic Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021), and the CG-animated He-Man and the Masters of the Universe aimed at younger audience.

Masters of the Universe hits theaters on June 5, 2026
