Paramount is expanding its Yellowstone universe yet again, as Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford have been cast in director Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel, 1932.
1932 was picked up direct to series in February and will examine the early twentieth century, when pandemics, unprecedented droughts, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all wreak havoc on the Mountain West and the Duttons who call it home. This is the second prequel to Paramount+’s hit Kevin Costner series, with 1883, starring Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, premiering this past December. Like 1883, 1932 will be a one-off, limited run series.
1932 will premiere in December on Paramount+.
