A new behind-the-scenes video debuted during last night’s MTV Movie Awards that gives us a preview of the upcoming King Kong reboot, King Kong: Skull Island.
We learn a bit about the film in the video. Hiddleston plays Captain James Conrad, a former British SAS officer who “understands nature and the ways of the jungle ,” (according to the actor himself) that leads an expedition to a mysterious island in the South Pacific – where he and his fellow explorers encounter “strange, new creatures, mythic beasts… and they have to get off the island alive.”
We learn that Brie Larson plays a character named Weaver , who is a “photojournalist, an activist [who] wants to work with these [Skull Island] creatures rather than fight against them.” And we learn that Straight Outta Compton’s Jason Mitchell plays a helicopter pilot who “has to build courage” over the course of the film.
The all star cast includes Brie Larson,Tom Hiddleston, Jason Mitchell, Corey Hawkins, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Thomas Mann, Toby Kebbell,Tom Wilkinson, and John C. Reilly. King Kong: Skull Island is being directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, and is scheduled to open March 10, 2017.
