After sporting a very Obi-Wan Kenobi looking beard at the 75th Golden Globes, Ewan McGregor was asked about the status of the rumored prequel/spin-off film during the press conference after the actor won the award for best actor for his roles in Fargo:
“There’s a lot of talk, and I’d be happy to play him again, but I don’t know anything more than you do…I saw the new one over Christmas and I thought it was really, really beautiful.”
McGregor has stated for some time he’d like to return to the role, and he briefly voiced the character for The Force Awakens. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Stephen Daldry has been rumored to be directing the Kenobi film. Fanning rumors about the film was this Facebook post showing McGregor in training:
