Marvel’s Kevin Feige Developing ‘Star Wars’ Movie

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Kevin Feige will be developing a Star Wars film for Lucasfilm/Disney. Feige has been one of the main architects for the MCU, resulting in Avengers: Endgame becoming the highest-grossing film of all time, so it only makes sense that Disney wants him involved in their other giant franchise.

Given the slightly lackluster results (by Disney’s standards) of Solo: A Star Wars Story and the backlash against Star Wars: the Last Jedi, the studio seems to be doing a bit of course correcting. The Ewan McGregor starring Obi-Wan film was moved to Disney + in a series format, and they are throwing money at filmmakers and producers that have a proven track record for their upcoming Star Wars project, with Jon Favreau’s producing the soon to be released The Mandalorian series for Disney +J.J. Abrams being brought back to helm Rise of Skywalker and Game of Thrones showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff working on futute Star Wars films. Disney must not have been too terribly concerned about The Last Jedi, though, as director Rian Johnson is also developing a Star Wars film.

There is no word as to what Feige will be doing with the franchise, but given his ability to help develop character driven action films, they aren’t likely to disappoint.
