Marvel Announces ‘Fantastic Four’ Cast

In a Valentine’s Day-themed social media post, Marvel officially announced the cast for their highly anticipated Fantastic Four film- Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing).

Matt Shakman (“WandaVision,” “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”) will direct “Fantastic Four,” from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.  While this will not be the first time we’ve seen Marvel’s first family on the big screen, it will be their debut in the MCU. However, based on the artwork for the announcement, it’s possible that it will be a period piece set in the 1960s. If that is the case, it’s likely that the fil will take place elsewhere in the multiverse, seeing as how we have not yet seen the foursome in anyof the time periods in the MCU.

Disney rescheduled the release dates of “The Fantastic Four” (now scheduled for July 25, 2025) and “Thunderbolts” (now scheduled for May 2, 2025) in conjunction with the casting announcement. These two are among the four Marvel tentpoles that are scheduled to debut in 2025, the other two being “Blade” in November and “Captain America: Brave New World” in February. In addition, four Marvel movies, including “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” are slated for release in 2026. This is an increase over 2024, when Marvel will only release “Deadpool & Wolverine” in theaters on July 26.
