Dr. Ian Malcolm is returning to the land of the lost. It has been confirmed that Jeff Goldblum will be reprising his role as the eccentric Chaos Theory mathematician in the upcoming sequel to Jurassic World. Goldblum starred in the original 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park, as well as the 1997 sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the sequel, which also stars Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Toby Jones. Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow wrote the screenplay along with Derek Connolly, and will be directed by J.A. Bayona. The film is scheduled for release on June 22, 2018.
