Marvel Television has released the first official trailer for VisionQuest, giving audiences a new look at Paul Bettany’s return as Vision and the unexpected reunion between the android and one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s former villains.
The Disney+ series follows White Vision after his last appearance in the 2021 finale of WandaVision. Created by S.W.O.R.D. as a weapon, White Vision regained the memories of his original counterpart during a confrontation with the Vision created by Wanda Maximoff. He subsequently departed Westview, leaving his whereabouts unknown.
VisionQuest picks up his story as Vision attempts to understand those memories and determine his own identity.
The trailer provides a glimpse inside Vision’s mind, represented as a mansion populated by human manifestations of artificial intelligence programs from throughout the MCU. Among them is Ultron, with James Spader returning to the role for the first time since 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Spader appears in human form in the footage, although Ultron’s familiar robotic form also factors into the series. His return creates an unusual relationship with Vision considering Ultron was directly responsible for the circumstances that led to Vision’s creation in Age of Ultron.
The series also brings back several other characters connected to the MCU’s history of artificial intelligence. James D’Arcy returns as J.A.R.V.I.S., following his previous appearances as Edwin Jarvis in Agent Carter and Avengers: Endgame, while Orla Brady portrays F.R.I.D.A.Y.
Ruaridh Mollica also stars as Thomas Shepherd, a character connected to Tommy Maximoff, one of Wanda and Vision’s sons introduced in WandaVision. The trailer suggests the relationship between Vision and Thomas will play an important part in Vision’s attempt to understand the family and memories he inherited from his previous incarnation.
VisionQuest serves as the third installment in a loose trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with 2024’s Agatha All Along. Terry Matalas, whose previous credits include Star Trek: Picard, serves as showrunner.
The trailer debuted as part of Disney’s D23 presentation on Friday, August 14.
VisionQuest premieres October 14, 2026, exclusively on Disney+.
