Katie Dippold, the screenwriter behind the all-female Ghostbusters reboot, will be writing a new adaptation of the classic Disney ride the Haunted Mansion. Dippold also wrote The Heat with Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock as well as Snatched with Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn. Disney previously adapted the famous ride in 2013 in a film starring Eddie Murphy and Marsha Thomason.
This may come as a blow to fans who were looking forward to a darker version from Haunted Mansion super-fan, Guillermo del Toro, which was reported to be starring Ryan Gosling.
