Former First lady Michelle Obama will be producing and starring in a cooking show aimed at children for Netflix. The series, titled Waffles + Mochi, will feature Mrs. Obama as a supermarket owner and two puppets named Waffles and Mochi who a striving to become chefs.
Netflix released the following statement regarding the series:
“With the help of friendly new faces like the supermarket owner, Mrs. Obama, and a magical flying shopping cart as their guide, Waffles and Mochi blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities.”
Obama’s”Let’s Move!” campaign was aimed at curbing childhood obesity, which included initiatives to help families get access to healthy, affordable foods.
Waffles + Mochi will be available for streaming starting March 16.
