Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that he is working on a new Deadpool movie. In an interview with Sunday Today with Willie Geist, Reynolds stated that he’s writing a new film featuring his beloved character, but that he doesn’t plan on making Deadpool the star.
“I have some stuff kind of written, but I don’t think I am ever going to center him again. He is a supporting character. He is a guy who is great in a group.”
Deadpool & Wolverine, which featured Reynolds’ third outing as the character (no, we’re not going to count his debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) was the highest grossing R-rated film of all time, bringing in $1.338 billion worldwide. It also also brought the two titular characters into the MCU for the first time, opening the door for potential appearances in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, though nothing has been confirmed yet.
