Sony has added actress Ming-Na Wen (The Book of Boba Fett, Mulan, Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D.) to the cast of their upcoming picture “Karate Kid.”
The cast had already been revealed to include Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, who will play their respective roles from earlier in the franchise, as well as Ben Wang, the star of “American Born Chinese,” in the lead role. Sadie Stanley and Joshua Jackson will also feature.
Wen’s role’s specifics are presently unknown. Jonathan Entwistle, the man behind “I Am Not Okay With This” and “The End of the F—ing World” on Netflix, will helm the film. Screenwriter Rob Lieber of “Peter Rabbit” will create the screenplay, with Karen Rosenfelt serving as producer.
The film is scheduled for a December 13, 2024 release.
