Here’s the first-look trailer for Hit Me Hard and Soft, a 3D concert film directed by Billie Eilish and co-directed by James Cameron. It will be released by Paramount on March 20, 2026.
The movie, which is billed as “an innovative new concert experience,” will chart Eilish’s most recent successful tour. In the teaser, Avatar director Cameron asserts that “we’re using tech no one has ever used before” and that “no one has ever shot a concert film on this scale before.” During the tour, he also inquires about Eilish “carrying a lot of pain.” Pic was produced by Lightstorm Earth, Darkroom Records, and Interscope Films.
The RIAA platinum-certified HIT ME HARD AND SOFT album has gathered over 7.8 BILLION global streams since its 2024 release, ranking #1 in 25 countries. HIT ME HARD AND SOFT sold 339k units and 90k vinyl in the United States in its first week, officially surpassing Eilish’s prior album sales and becoming her largest career debut. She is also the first female solo artist to have an album with three songs (“LUNCH,” “CHIHIRO,” and “BIRDS OF A FEATHER”) that received over 8 million daily streams in the Top 10 Spotify Global Chart in its first week, and she is one of only two artists and the youngest to have sold more than 300,000 units in the first week in the previous eight years.
The album was nominated for seven Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. In September 2024, Eilish began her corresponding tour, which included three sold-out performances at the storied Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The trailer for Hit Me Hard and Soft focuses on Cameron’s vision for the feature, behind-the-scenes moments, and Eilish’s relationship with her brother, Finneas.
