Scorsese’s “The Irishman” Begins Filming in August

Martin Scorsese’s long awaited The Irishman, will begin filming this August, according to IndieWire.  The film, based on Charles Brandt’s 2003 book, “I Heard You Paint Houses,” will be about hitman  Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, who is said to have been involved in the death of Jimmy Hoffa. Robert De Niro is set to play Frank Sheeran, with Al Pacino is playing Hoffa. Joe Pesci is coming out of retirement to portray Sicilian crime lord Russell Bufalino, with Harvey Keitel set to play Sicilian mafia boss Angelo Bruno. Netflix is looking for a 2019 release day-and-date with a limited Oscar-qualifying release.
