So This Is Why Actors Had Accents in the 30’s & 40’s

Have you ever wondered why actors  in the 1930’s and 1940’s like Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis had sudo-British accents? Well, according to the folks at Brainstuff at How Stuff Works, it’s called a Transatlantic, or Mid Atlantic, accent, and here’s the explanation:
