Sarah Jessica Parker went to Instagram to confirm that a Sex and the City reunion series is heading to HBO Max. In her post, Parker wrote “I couldn’t help but wonder… where are they now? X, SJ.” The accompanying video shows various images of New York City along with a computer screen typing “And just like that…”
The series will also see the return of Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Not surprisingly, Kim Cattrall will not be returning to her role of Samantha. She has made it very clear in the past that she would never reprise the role, stating “It’s a no from me. You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun.”
The last time we saw the Sex and the City gals was in 2010’s Sex and the City 2, which was not received well by critics or fans, sitting at an abysmal 16% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The new 10-episode, half-hour series is set to begin production in NYC in late spring.
