The 2024 Oscar nominations were revealed today, with “Oppenheimer” topping the field with 13 nominations and “Poor Things” coming in second with 11. The nominations were revealed live from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater by Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid, and they include crucial news for many of the most important movies of the previous year. “Oppenheimer,” “Barbie,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Poor Things,” and “The Holdovers” all looked good going into the nomination process, having won big at the Critics Choice and Golden Globes and garnering support from the guilds of directors, actors, and producers—who make up a sizable portion of the Academy’s voting body.
The 96th Academy Awards take place Sunday, March 10, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
