Marvel Animation’s X-Men ’97 | Official Trailer

Disney has released the trailer for their highly anticipated animated series, “X-Men ’97,” the follow up to the original ’90s Fox series.

For those unfamiliar, “X-Men: The Animated Series” is a beloved animated television show that first premiered in 1992, captivating audiences with its dynamic storytelling and vibrant animation. Adapted from the popular Marvel Comics series, the show follows the adventures of the X-Men, a group of mutants with unique abilities, as they strive to protect a world that fears and misunderstands them. The series effectively explores themes of prejudice, acceptance, and the struggle for coexistence between mutants and humans. With a diverse cast of characters, including iconic figures like Wolverine, Cyclops, and Jean Grey, the show delves into the personal challenges faced by each mutant while engaging in epic battles against formidable villains, such as Magneto and the Sentinels. “X-Men: The Animated Series” is celebrated for its compelling narrative, character development, and its ability to appeal to both longtime fans of the comics and new audiences. Even years after its initial run, the show continues to be cherished by fans for its contribution to the rich tapestry of X-Men storytelling.

The new series picks up where the original series left off, with the X-Men coping with the loss of their leader, Charles Xavier. The last time this version of Professor X was seen was actually in live action form, in a cameo in 2022’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” portrayed by Patrick Stewart. Several cast members return from the original series, including Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, and Alyson Court.

X-Men ’97 is scheduled to premiere on March 20, 2024, and will consist of ten episodes. A second season is in development.
