Josh Gad has started a new YouTube series called “Reunited Apart” on which he is reuniting (via video conferencing) famous castmates and filmmakers to raise money for The Center for Disaster Philanthropy to aid in efforts of COVID-19 relief. First up was the cast of the 80’s classic “The Goonies,” including Sean Astin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman, Jonathan Ke Quan, Josh Brolin, Martha Plimpton, Kerri Green, Robert Davi and Joe Pantoliano. They were joined by screenwriter Chris Columbus, executive producer Steven Spielberg and director Richard Donner, as well as Cindy Lauper, who performed the Goonies’ theme song “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough.”
The cast, all of whom seem to really get along still (as evidence in “The Goonies” DVD commentary as well), recreated some famous scenes, and Spielberg addressed all those reboot/sequel rumors. You can watch the video below.
