“Deadpool 2” Stuntwoman Dies After On-set Injury

An unidentified stuntwoman died on the set of Deadpool 2 in Vancouver, Canada on Monday after her motorcycle crashed during filming, according to local authorities.  Bystanders told Vancouver affiliate CTV News  that the stunt driver’s motorcycle crashed through the window of Shaw Tower in Jack Poole Plaza.  The driver assumed to be the stunt double for Zazie Beetz, as she was seen  wearing the Domino costume while riding a black Ducati motorcycle a few days earlier. 20th Century Fox released the following statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning. Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time.”

Star Ryan Reynolds shared these sentiments:

“Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming ‘Deadpool,’” he wrote in a message posted to Twitter. “We’re heartbroken, shocked and devastated … but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them — along with each and every person she touched in this world.”

Details on the accident are still emerging. Deadpool 2 is scheduled for release on June 1, 2018.
