The heavily rumored Spider-Woman movie may have just found its hero from a galaxy far, far away.
While promoting her newest film, Star Wars heroine Daisy Ridley addressed rumors and expressed her interest in portraying Spider-Woman, in what could be the next addition to the Sony Marvel Universe.
“OMG, I would love to play Spider-Woman,” said Ridley. “But is it more of like an extended Spiderverse thing?”
Last year, it was reported that Olivia Wilde would direct a Spider-Woman movie as part of Sony’s Marvel Universe. Following that report, fans took to social media lending their casting suggestions for the film which included Daisy Ridley. The idea quickly made Ridley a fan-favorite pick leading to further rumors that she may have been considered for the film.
In an interview with USA Today author Sariah Wilson, Ridley appeared highly on board when it came to the rumored female-led superhero film. When asked if she would like to be part of the MCU, Ridley blurted out “For sure!”
What so many of you have been waiting for: I asked Daisy Ridley I'd she'd heard the Spider-Woman rumors. She said no and asked what they were. I explained it to her and she said, "OMG, I would love to play Spider-Woman. But is it more of like an extended Spiderverse thing?"

Ironically enough, Ridley is currently starring alongside the MCU’s Spider-Man, Tom Holland, in the sci-fi adventure Chaos Walking. The film is set to be released on March 5 by Lionsgate.
