So now that Fall is in full swing we get a lot of smaller budget films, which in today’s movie culture means they cost less than $100 million and still have recognizable names (or maybe not). Needless to say there aren’t a lot of movies released in September and October that cost over that $100 million mark. Three new movies opened this weekend: Hotel Transylvania 2, The Intern and The Green Inferno. The Hotel Transylvania sequel took in an impressive 47.5 million in box office, proving them kiddos still eat up the animation, even if it’s voiced by Kevin James. The Intern took second spot with a little over 18 million and poor Eli Roth opened at 9th place with his Cannibal Holocaust homage, The Green Inferno, bringing in just 3.5 million. The Johnny Depp vehicle, Black Mass dropped to number 5, so no number one spot for him this run. Sicario took the number ten spot even in just a limited release, could be promising for its wide release later this week.
