Although Spectre came in 15 million under its predecessor’s weekend opening gross, it still managed to take in $73,000,000 at the box office and easily secure the number one spot. The other new major release was The Peanuts Movie that managed to bring $45,000,000 its first weekend and grab the number two spot at the box office. The Martian still showed some teeth after 6 weeks at theaters garnering it the number 3 position and bringing in a little over $9,000,000. It was a big boost for the box office after last weekend, which saw the worst box office earnings of the year. Let’s face it we are all really just waiting to see Star Wars next month.
