Tom Holland is set to star in and produce The Partner, a drama based on the John Grisham 1997 book, for Universal. The script will be written by The Imitation Game’s Graham Moore
The story focuses on Patrick Lanigan, a young partner in a white-shoe Biloxi legal firm. He pretends to die in a burning automobile. He left behind a secret, a wife, and a newborn daughter. In reality, he has stolen $90 million from a client of his corrupt law company and staged his death to establish a model for a new life. In South America, he finds contentment. The client, who put a lot of effort into defrauding the authorities, is determined to find the lawyer he doesn’t think is dead after discovering that the money has disappeared from his offshore accounts. As a result, the lawyer must surrender to the FBI and confront the wife, child, and life he left behind.
Holland will soon be seen in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, as well as an upcoming fourth Spider-Man film. Additionally, fans can expect to see Holland’s web-slinger in Joe & Anthony Russo’s Avengers films.
