Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens finished it’s domestic box office at number one of all time with a whopping $936,662,225, beating the previous record holder Avatar by a decent margin. Avatar previously had the number one spot at $760,507,625 in domestic gross. Force Awakens stands third in worldwide gross, behind Titantic and the number one seat, Avatar. That is likely due to the fact that the original Star Wars had very limited release in some countries, like China, so it has not been apart of their lexicon for the last forty years.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is cutrrently out on Blu-ray, and the next installment in the Star Wars franchise, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, opens state side December 16, 2016.
