We have watched over the last couple years as Shai LaBeouf has slowly seemed to fall apart in front of us. And when I say in front of us I mean that literally. There have been a whole bunch of child stars turned movie stars that have seen their share of darkness. But I’m hard pressed to think of anyone who has done it in such a public arena. He has staged some incredibly strange “performance” art pieces, from sitting in a gallery and basically turning himself into a dejected zoo animal as people came to watch him sit and do nothing, to his current project which is live streaming here. He is calling the project All My Movies or #ALLMYMOVIES to be precise. He is currently live streaming himself watching all of his movies in backwards chronological order. Yes you read that correctly, it is a live stream of him watching his movies, not a live stream of his movies. LaBeouf rented out the Angelik Film Center in NYC for three days (it started this afternoon). The event is actually free and open to the public, so if you are in the area feel free to stop in and join him. I advise you to avoid the Transformer movies, even when they are free you will feel robbed.
I’m not going to lie it was a bit mesmerizing watching the feed for a few minutes. Definitely strange. In the early stages of his recent public meltdown (unless hes going for the Andy Kaufman thing, but he doesn’t strike me as the type) it was kind of funny but at this point its just a bit sad. I saw him eating popcorn and he was absent for a minute so I’m guessing that we can rest assured he isn’t starving and shitting himself for three days.
