Through Twitter, Seth MacFarlane has confirmed that production on a Family Guy movie will begin “soon.” McFarlane has hinted at a feature film for the show for a few years now, after The Simpsons Movie was released, but it’s likely taken a while due to the production schedule of the show itself (which was the reason for the long delay in getting a Simpsons movie).
The Simpsons Movie did very little to push the boundaries past the television series, but don’t expect the same from a Family Guy film. Like South Park, Family Guy will likely take full advantage of an R rating. The show damn near breaks the boundaries as it is, so an R rated Family Guy film has the potential to be one of the raunchiest and offensive films ever produced.
