UFC Women’s Champ, Ronda Rousey, will be taking the main role in the new Road House reboot. Rousey will be filling the role once filled by Patrick Swayze. The original was released in 1989 and had Swayze as a bouncer hired to clean up a Missouri town’s rowdiest bar. No word on how close the plot will be to in resemblance to the original as the script is still being completed but production is set to begin production next year.
Rousey is starting to build up some acting credits and this would be her largest role to date. She expressed a lot of gratitude in her acceptance of the role and went as far as reaching out to Swayze’s widow for her blessing.
It is a great honor to play a part in celebrating the life of a man that inspired so many. I couldn’t be more grateful to have this opportunity to pay respect to the beloved Patrick Swayze… I promise to work incessantly to make sure this project is a tribute his family and fans can be proud of.
Obviously she has a lot of respect for the late actor. Not too sure this needed to be done, but who doesn’t like watching Rousey beat the crap out of people.
