“The Movie Critic,” which Quentin Tarantino had previously declared would be his last picture as a filmmaker, is no longer on his schedule. “The Movie Critic” was supposed to be Tarantino’s ninth feature picture, but according to insiders, he has decided to go on to something new and won’t be trying to revive the project or alter the script.
The movie had chosen Brad Pitt for the lead part. Tarantino once said that the 1977-set movie was about a movie critic who worked as a small-time critic and wrote shrewd reviews for a pornographic magazine.
The director has previously rejected an R-rated “Star Trek” movie in 2019, citing it as being too large of a project, so it’s unclear what he would opt to tackle for his next picture.
