X-Men: Apocalypse producer has told ComingSoon.net that the next X-Men film will take place in the 1990’s. The most recent round of X-Men films have been jumping decades, with First Class taking place in the 1960’s, Days of Future Past (partially) taking place in the 1970’s, and Apocalypse taking place in the 1980’s. It’s only appropriate that an X-Men film will be set in the 90’s, and the series had it’s most commercial success then, thanks to artist Jim Lee and the animated series on Fox. Just can’t wait for the Doc Martins and flannel shirts.
