Netflix has cancelled their comedy Blockbuster after only one season. The show was a one-camera workplace comedy about the employees of the world’s last Blockbuster Video. The freshman series premiered on the streaming service on November 3, 2022
Randall Park, Melissa Fumero, Olga Merediz, Tyler Alvarez, Madeleine Arthur, JB Smoove, Kamaia Fairburn, Leonard Robinson, and Keegan Connor Tracy appeared in the series. Vanessa Ramos conceived and executive produced the show. Writers and executive producers included David Caspe and Jackie Clarke. Davis Entertainment was founded by John Davis and John Fox. The studio was Universal Television.
The series’ cancellation was not surprising. Blockbuster failed to enter the Netflix Top 10 in the United States at its premiere and in the first full week after its launch. According to Netflix, it only made the top ten in two countries after its launch: Australia and Canada.
