So it was 1995 when the original Mortal Kombat film hit the big screen and was followed up a couple years later with an abysmal sequel. There has been talk over the years about reviving the franchise for the big screen but nothing solid ever came to be. In the meantime we had something hit DVD and the web. The video game series has remained strong however despite its original developers going bankrupt. Now it is being reported that none other than James Wan director of Furious 7 has come on board to revive the franchise for a big screen release. That is pretty big news for this franchise since Wan’s Furious killed it at the box office and give running legs to this reboot. David Callaham who wrote The Expendables and Oren Uziel, who wrote a short film Mortal Kombat: Rebirth which turned out a fairly well received web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy. With Wan attached it seems far more likely we will see this come to be in the near future, the questions are do we still want to see this after all these years and will there be Fatalities? GET OVER HERE!!!!
