Millennium Falcon on Set of “Episode VIII”

The Daily Mail has released photos from Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England that show a full sized Millennium Falcon. The set designed  appears to be the planet of Ahch-To, which is not only where The Force Awakens left off, but where we’ve been told Episode VIII will begin. Incidentally, if that is true, it will be the first film in the series that is a direct continuation of the previous film, rather than taking place some time later. That will also make the opening scroll interesting, as it has historically filled in the gaps of the story between films.

The pictures also show an adjacent set under construction, though it’s not clear what it will be. Though it’s not new seeing a full sized Falcon, it does not cease being really damn cool. Star Wars Episode VIII opens December 15, 2017.
