Disney announced at the 2022 D23 Expo that they will be producing a prequel to their live-action adaptation of The Lion King, and a sequel to Pixar’s Inside Out
Inside Out 2, which will take place inside a teenage Riley Anderson’s mind, will be released in 2024, and Barry Jenkins will helm Mufasa, a prequel to the 2019 live-action version of The Lion King that shows how Simba’s father climbed from humble beginnings to rule over all the Pridelands.
