According to Deadline, Liam Neeson has signed in the star in the action/comedy film The Revenger. Zombieland‘s Ruben Fleischer is set to direct, with a screenplay by the writing power team of Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant (Reno 911). Although there is no description of the film yet, one can assume it’s as spoof every movie Neeson has made since the first Taken.
Lennon and Garant may be two of the most successful writers in Hollywood (prompting them to co-write the book “Writing Movies for Fun and Profit: How We Made a Billion Dollars at the Box Office and You Can, Too!“), but as financially successful as their films have been, they are spotty at best. They penned The Night at the Museum films, as well as Hell Baby, but also were responsible for Herbie Fully Loaded, The Pacifier, and Taxi. Not to mention, the track record for spoof movies as genre isn’t good, so the odds are not in this film’s favor.
