At a pre- Golden Globes party on Saturday night, writer-director Rian Johnson told The Hollywood Reporter that he is developing a sequel to his hit film Knives Out that will feature Daniel Craig’s Southern detective Benoit Blanc. He stated that both he and Craig are wager to make the film (possibly as early as next year), as they both had a ball with the character.
Knives Out has been a success for Johnson and Lionsgate, receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews (you can see ours here), and earning over $247 million on a $40 million budget. A sequel has yet to be greenlit, but it’s doubtful the studio will have any issue doing so.
