A couple of weeks ago, Ben Affleck shared a video of the character Deathstroke in what appeared to be a screen test for some unnamed movie. Fanboys lost their minds, speculating the the popular DC assassin would be popping up in either Justice League, or the upcoming Batman solo film. DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns has officially confirmed that not only will Deathstroke be appearing in the DC Cinematic Universe, but that True Blood and Pee Wee’s Big Holiday star Joe Manganiello will play Slade Wilson, better known as Deathstroke, in Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie.
Deathstroke has been previously played by Manu Bennett on the first few seasons of CW’s Arrow, and as good as he was, Manganiello will be perfect for the role. We’ll find out for sure when the film is released in 2018.
