In an interview with Daily Beast to promote his new HBO film “Bad Education,” Hugh Jackman confirmed that he was offered a role in Tom Hooper’s notorious 2019 bomb “Cats.” When asked if he had in fact turned down a role, Jackman just stated “Um…yep,” following up with:
“You know, Tom rang me early on because we did Les Mis together, and there were a couple of options there based on availability and time, and I really… yeah, I just wasn’t available at the time.”
Jackman whose talent for song and dance has been proven many times over, likely would not have been able to save “Cats” from its demise, despite talents.
“Bad Education,” which also stars Allison Janney and Ray Romano, debuts on HBO on April 25th.
