Despite the fact that Goosebumps won’t be released until October 16th 2015, Sony is already developing a sequel, according to The Tracking Board. The film, based on the wildly successful series of books by R.L. Stine, stars Jack Black as the author who is forced to face off against the creatures he’s created after they escape from his manuscripts.
There’s obviously no guarantee the film will warrant a sequel, but after 350 million copies of the 81 books published (some best sellers) and a successful television series, there’s definitely a built in audience here. Even if the film is bad, it will likely turn a decent profit.
