DC has found its newest bad guy. According to Variety, Ewan McGregor is in talks to play the Batman villain Black Mask in Warner Bros’ upcoming “Birds of Prey” film. Margot Robbie, who is producing the film, will reprise her role as Harley Quinn, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead portraying Huntress and Jurnee Smollett-Bell playing Black Canary Black Canary. Rosie Perez will be joining the cast as Gotham City police detective Renee Montoya.
Black Mask, who debuted in 1985, is s a brutal and ruthless crime lord in Gotham City who is obsessed with masks and torture. McGregor will also be seen in Warner Bros’ upcoming “Shining” sequel “Doctor Sleep” as the grownup Danny Torrence.
Cathy Yan is directing “Birds of Prey,” which hits theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.
