Well, Disney continues to steamroll down the remake path, and now they’re eyeing up Emma Stone to plav Cruella de Vil in the live action version of 101 Dalmatians. You may be thinking, “Hey, didn’t they already make a live action remake of that film? And didn’t Glenn Close play Cruella de Vil? And shouldn’t I care just a smudge less about this?” The answer to all of those questions is yes. But like Maleficent, this will be a villain origin story. If there’s blood to be squeezed from a stone, Disney can do it. It’s being written by Fifty Shades of Grey screenwriter Kelly Marcel (well that makes sense), and currently has no director attached.
