After Kevin Smith announced that he was planning a sequel to his 1995 cult classic Mallrats, titled Twilight of the Mallrats, Bruce Campbell made a plea to have a role in it, Tweeting:
“Kevin. Can I play the Milk Man? Seriously.”
Smith was happy to reply:
“The role I have for you in “Twilight of the Mallrats” is the part you were *born* to play: @GroovyBruce himself! In a world where Brodie’s biggest hero @TheRealStanLe is gone (but never forgotten), he’s gonna need all his *other* heroes. And Brodie loooooves “Evil Dead 2” & Ash!”
Smith recently announced that after the success of Jay and Silent Bob reboot, he will be making Clerks 3, though has had sequels to Mallrats and Clerks in mind for a while now. We spoke with Clerks and Clerks 2 star Brian O’Halloran back in 2016 about reprising his role as Dante in a third Clerks, as will as his role as Dantes’ cousin Gil Hicks in the then-planned Mattrats TV series, and he was pretty down with the idea.
Bruce and Kevin Smith? Fanboys would lose their frigging minds if this collaboration happens..
