Temuera Morrison, the actor who portrayed Jango Fett (and his subsequent clones) in the “Star Wars” prequels will have a small role in the second season of Disney+’s “The Mandalorian” as Jango’s son, famed bounty hunter Boba Fett. Boba Fett was played by young Daniel Logan in the prequels, but as Boba is technically a clone of Jenga, and we don’t see him without his helmet in the original trilogy, it make sense to bring Morrison back to portray him as an adult. Morrison recently had roles in “Aquaman” and “Dora and the Lost City of God.”
Boba Fett was last seen in “Return of the Jedi” meeting his demise in the Sarlacc pit, though thanks to the expanded Star Wars Universe (now Legacy), Fett escaped the pit. However, that was not technically canon, until now. Boba Fett was teased in the season one episode “The Gunslinger,” when a mysterious figure with Fett’s trademark spurs approached the body of Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen).
Since “Empire Strikes Back,” Boba Fett has remained one of Star Wars’ most popular characters, despite his limited screen time. Fett technically made his debut in the animated sequence of the infamously bad “Star Wars Holiday Special”
