According to Deadline, Anthony Mackie has closed a deal to star in Captain America 4. This obviously doesn’t come as surprise. After Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers handed Mackie’s Sam Wilson his shield at the end of Avengers: End Game, it was assumed Mackie would be stepping into the role on the big screen. This was even further cemented by the actions in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, in which Wilson officially dons the new Captain America suit, which is a hybrid of Cap’s suit and the Falcon suit.
Captain America 4 is being written by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer and creator Malcolm Spellman and series staff writer Dalan Musson. They are challenged with filling in the gap for those people that did not watch the series without boring those that did.
There is no word o if Sebastian Stan will be returning as Bucky “Winter Solider” Barnes yet, nor is there a director attached.
