Wilford Brimley Has Passed Away

Wilford Brimley, the seasoned actor best known for his roles in Cocoon, The Thing and The Natural, has passed away. Brimley had been suffering from a kidney ailment for a couple of months, according to his agent.

Over the course of his fifty year career, Brimley appeared in nearly eighty projects, including the films The Firm, Absence of Malice, The China Syndrome, Hard Target, True Grit, and Cocoon: the Return, as well as television series such television as The Waltons, Our House, Seinfeld, and Homicide: Life on the Street. 

Brimley also starred as Noa Briqualon in the now non-canon 1985 made-for-tv film Star Wars film Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, which was  a follow-up to 1984’s Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure. 

Wilford Brimley was 85.
