Although the summer box office season pretty much ended a couple of weeks ago Straight Outta Compton has been a huge success. The movie took the number one spot for a third week in a row, bringing in a little over $13 million. Truth be told there really wasn’t a lot of competition this week. The only two openers War Room and No Escape came in with little hoopla and took second and fifth, respectively. The Indie thriller The Gift is still holding strong in the top ten and the monster hit Jurassic World found its way back into the top ten. The fall season is a good time to find smaller films in your independent movie houses and on demand. We’ll keep an eye out for ya.
