With Oscar season around the corner, Academy Award hopefuls like Sicario, The Walk, and The Martian are starting to take over the top ten, but this season also brings with it films the studios don’t have enough confidence to release closer to Christmas, like Hotel Transylvania 2 and the Maze Runner sequel. The big loser this weekend was Pan in the number three spot. With a budget of $150 million, and an opening box office of only $15 million, it will likely be a loss for Warner Bros.
