In a surprise to no one, Furious 7 topped the Box Office this weekend, pulling in an estimated $143.6 million. Even with the success of the franchise up to this point, one might assume that 7’s success was in, in part, due to Paul Walker’s death, but it’s actually pulling in some good reviews, gaining an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes (as of this posting).
In second place was the Dreamworks animated film HOME, with $27.4 million (down 47% from it’s opening). The Will Farrell/Kevin Hart comedy Get Hard dropped 62% from last week bringing in $12.9 in its third place finish. Disney’s live action Cinderella stayed put at fourth place with $10 million, and in a close fifth place was The Divergent Series: Insurgent.
